The 2024 General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

Here’s what you need to know to get ready to vote:

To register to vote in New Jersey, you must be a citizen of the United States, at least 17 years old (you may not vote until you have reached the age of 18), a resident of the county for 30 days before the election, a person not serving a sentence of incarceration as the result of a conviction of any indictable offense.

You can register by completing a Voter Registration Application and/or Party Affiliation Form. This form must be returned to the County Commissioner of Registration or Superintendent of Elections for your county. You can also register online with a form of identification such as a valid Driver’s License or a Social Security Number.

The last day to register to vote in New Jersey is October 15, 2024.

There is an Early Voting Period from October 26th to November 3rd.

The deadline to apply for a Mail-In Ballot by mail is October 29th. The deadline to apply for a Mail-In Ballot in person is November 4th by 3pm.

Post Offices must receive Mail-In Ballots by November 5th. This is also the deadline to submit Mail-In Ballots in person to County Boards of Election.
