The 2024 election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Offices up for election range from the president and vice president of the United States to local and municipal elections. Here's what you need to know to get ready to vote in the 2024 election.
All Indiana residents who are U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old on or before the next election, who have lived in their precinct for at least 30 days before the next election and who are not currently imprisoned after being convicted of a crime are eligible to vote in Indiana. To register to vote you must have a valid Indiana Driver’s License or Indiana State Identification Card.
You can register to vote online or you can print out your application or absentee ballot forms and return them.

The last day to register to vote in Indiana is October 7, 2024. The deadline for vote by mail applications is October 24, 2024, 11:59 p.m. (local prevailing time).
There are new requirements to vote absentee by mail in Indiana. Voters must provide one of the following on their absentee ballot: Indiana driver’s license number, Indiana ID card number, unique voter identification number or the last four digits of their social security number. Or voters must provide a copy of a government-issued photo ID, like a driver’s license, ID card or passport.
Absentee ballots must be received by the county election board no later than 6 p.m. (local prevailing time) on November 5, 2024, except for overseas voters. Military and overseas voters must have their absentee ballots postmarked by November 5, 2024, and it must be received by the county no later than 12 p.m. (local prevailing time) on Friday, November 15, 2024.
Polling places in Indiana will be open on Election Day from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (local prevailing time).
There is one legislatively referred state constitutional amendment on the Indiana 2024 general election ballot. The measure would amend Section 10 of Article 5 of the Indiana Constitution. The struck-through text would be deleted.
