ABC30 is tracking crime and safety in communities in Fresno County and across the Central Valley. This safety tracker lets you look into how often major crimes happen where you live and to examine trends over time, according to data that local law enforcement agencies report to the state of California.

ABC30’s data team looked at the data that every local police agency reported to the California Department of Justice each year through 2022, the latest date for which records are available. The vast majority of law enforcement agencies in the county do not make public more recent records.
The totals here include murders, but not involuntary manslaughter or justifiable homicide.
The map color codes each community by the rate of incidents per 100,000 residents in 2022. Click the box in the bottom right corner to color-code communities by the number of crimes instead of the rate.
